Juche Idea Researchers from Around the World Visit DPRK
―Participating in International Seminar on Juche Idea and Commemorative Events―
On the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea that falls on October 10, 2025, Juche idea researchers from around the world visited the DPRK and participated in an International Seminar on the Juche Idea and commemorative events concerned.
International Seminar of Juche Idea on
“Immortal Banner for Building Just and Peaceful World”
To celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK, an International Seminar of the Juche Idea on “Immortal Banner for Building a Just and Peaceful World” was held in Pyongyang on October 8-9, 2025.
The seminar was attended by delegations and delegates of Juche idea study groups from 24 countries of the world, including Prof. Matteo Carbonelli and Prof. Harish Gupta, both of which were deputy directors-general, Board of Directors of the International Institute of the Juche Idea.
Prof. Harish Gupta played the role of the chairman of the seminar, delivering the opening address. He said:
“The flames of struggle of the people in the world for realizing independence and justice are burning fiercely, irrespective of their countries’ borders.
The DPRK, under the leadership of Kim Jong Un’s independent politics, is dynamically advancing towards the complete victory of socialism with the position of military power. Such reality gives mankind firm confidence in the bright future.
“Those who learn from the Juche idea are the pioneers to lead the era of independence and need to make more profound study of the Juche idea and put it into practice to discharge their responsibility as such.
“Availing myself of this opportunity with my resolution for a new struggle in the future, I declare the opening of the international seminar on the Juche idea.” (Click for the details!)
“In his welcome address, Mr. Thae Hyong Chol, first vice-president of the Korean Association of Social Scientists said as follows:
“I firmly believe that today’s seminar will serve as a significant gathering to reaffirm the weighty sense of responsibility and role of an age that the Juche idea study groups and their members in each continent, country and region assume in the struggle to make the countries and nations destroy the imperialists’ high-handedness and arbitrariness, aggression and infringement of sovereignty, safeguard their sovereignty and realize global independence.
“It is a truth proved by history that the destiny of a nation and prosperity of a country hinges on independence and the genuine dignity and happy future of posterity can be guaranteed only when independence is adhered to.
“I firmly believe that you should devote yourself entirely to the study and dissemination of the Juche idea for the building of an independent, just and new world in close unity and cooperation, cherishing the honour and pride of being pioneers and propagators of the great idea of the times.”(Click for the details!)
Then, Prof. Matteo Carbonelli, president of the European Society for the Study of the Juche Idea made a keynote report entitled “Building Just and Peaceful World Is Invariable Ideal and Desire of Progressive People.” He said:
“Building a world of justice and peace is the enduring ideal of progressive peoples and an irreversible historical trend.
“That victory requires a scientific guiding ideology and correct strategy and tactics, and the Juche idea is the guiding principle for the current struggle.
“The Juche idea is a perfect revolutionary doctrine that shows the path to the happiness and prosperity of humankind. It clearly demonstrated the necessity of all countries and nations to unite under the banner of anti-imperialism and independence, realize international justice, safeguard the cause of socialism, and develop the non-aligned movement.
“I firmly believe that this seminar will be an important occasion in invigorating the Juche idea researchers and further expanding and strengthening the study and dissemination of the Juche idea on a worldwide scale.”(Click for the details!)
In the seminar, a message from Dr. Ogami Ken-ichi, secretary general of the IIJI was introduced. It read:
“The most important task facing the world people at present is to realize global independence and peace.
“When all countries and nations value independence most and respect the independence of other countries and nations, global independence will be realized.
“The study and dissemination of the Juche idea is an undertaking that serves as an ideological pabulum enabling the people in individual countries to perform their role as masters in the struggle for realizing global independence.
“Accordingly, it is essential for the Juche idea researchers to go among the people in their own countries, believe in and serve them faithfully and work for them with sincerity.
“The WPK is being further developed into a party applying the people-first principle under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Un.
“The people-first principle which General Secretary Kim Jong Un puts into practice has been applied in the Party activities and the Party officials find themselves among the people, believe in and rely on them and thus the latter have given full play to their inexhaustible strength. The practice of the Korean revolution clearly proves that the motive force of revolution is in the hearts of the people.
“The purity of ideas of activists in the van is important in making Japan and the world independent and realizing peace. Let us make the idea of devoting all to the people of our own and conduct the study and dissemination of the Juche idea by relying on the broad masses of people.” (Click for the details!)
Prof. Kim Chang Gyong, section chief of the KASS made a speech entitled “Kim Jong Un’s Revolutionary Ideology Is Sole Guiding Ideology of WPK, Banner Leading Era of Independence.” He said:
“Socialism is an ideal of the masses of the people, and the WPK’s aim of opening up a path of socialism and advancing socialism while resolutely braving all sorts of challenges of history is to provide them with a dignified and happy life.
“Kim Jong Un’s revolutionary ideology is run with a noble sense of responsibility and a mission to add more brilliance to the DPRK-style socialism centred on the masses of the people, and is oriented towards making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people”. (Click for the details!)
Mr. Juha Kieksi, secretary general of the European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea made a speech entitled “Devotion to People-Eighty Years of Workers’ Party of Korea.” He said:
“Finland had already lost its economic independence by joining the European Union and later the euro zone.
“With NATO membership, Finland has now lost its military independence as well. Today the border between Finland and Russia has become a NATO border, and it has become a permanent state of insecurity. At the same time, its democratic rights are being eroded.
“Our task in Europe is to study the Juche idea from our own conditions, to break the imperialist media monopoly, and to spread awareness of the benefits socialism offers.
“The DPRK is an example for us. Its experience shows that strong defence and people’s welfare can go hand in hand―if the fruits of labour are used to build its society, and not siphoned away into the coffers of monopoly capital.” (Click for the details!)
Prof. Alexander Vorontsov, department head, Institute of Oriental Studies, Russia Academy of Sciences made a speech entitled “Russia and DPRK in Van of Struggle for Building Just and Peaceful World Order.” He said as follows:
“At present, a process for establishing a more righteous and new world order, that is called the multipolar world, is being promoted actively.
“What makes progressive people carry out with success the struggle is the Juche idea as the idea of independence. The Juche idea was founded and further developed in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). This idea has become widely known in many countries and they regard it as an attractive one.
“In the DPRK based on the Juche idea, independence in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliance in national defence were completely realized not in words but in reality.
“Based on the principle of independence, equality and sovereignty, Russia also has confidence in the formation of the multipolar world and in that the multipolar world spreads democracy in international relations against dictatorship and hegemony which the West tries to keep.
“Similarity in the world outlook of Moscow and Pyongyang who intend to hold independence both in theory and practice, enables the two countries to be the ones of a few countries that have become completely independent in the present world and, as a result, the two countries have become advanced ones which lead the majority of the world people to the building of a multipolar world.” (Click for the details!)
Delegates from Juche idea study groups in Austria, Poland, Belarus, Denmark, Germany, and other countries also delivered their speeches.
The seminar adopted a letter addressed to General Secretary Kim Jong Un.
Following the seminar's conclusion on the 8th, a banquet hosted by the government of the DPRK was held, to which seminar participants were invited.
Joining Events to Celebrate
80th Founding Anniversary of WPK
From October 9 to 11, Juche idea researchers from around the world were present on invitation at the events to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK, including a Celebration Meeting concerned, a mass gymnastics and artistic performances, and a military parade at Kim Il Sung Square that were held with the attendance of General Secretary Kim Jong Un, a public procession and a torchlight gala conducted by the youth.
Specifically, on October 9, a Meeting to Celebrate the 80th Founding Anniversary of the WPK was held at May Day Stadium.
At the meeting, General Secretary Kim Jong Un delivered a speech summarizing the proud 80-year history of the WPK being filled with complex and arduous challenges.
A Grand Mass Gymnastics and Artistic Performances in Celebration of the 80th Founding Anniversary of the WPK was also held at May Day Stadium on the same day.
The mass gymnastics unfolded as a grand epic spectacle depicting the origins of the Party's founding and the 80-year history of the WPK that has advanced along the arduous path, while upholding its founding principles.
During their stay in Pyongyang, those Juche Idea researchers from around the world also visited the Party Founding Museum and the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Those Juche idea researchers who visited the DPRK in October 2025 are now respectively holding study sessions and seminars in their home countries after their visit to the DPRK, passionately conveying the significance of their trip to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK to a wide audience.
