Commemorative Reporting Conference on 7th Party Congress
Held in Tokyo
A Commemorative Reporting Conference on the 7th Congress of the WPK along with a celebratory performance were held in Tokyo on May 21, 2016 in an effort to congratulate H.E. Mr.
The Commemorative Reporting Conference was held under the joint auspices of the Japanese Committee for the Support of Korea's Independent Peaceful Reunification (JCSKIPR), the Japanese National Liaison Council for the Study of
Present there were people studying the Juche idea all over Japan from Hokkaido, the most northern part, to Okinawa, the most southern part including distinguished people from various circles of academy, politics, and labor union, musicians, workers, women, students and youths; Japan-Korea friendship activists; and relevant people of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), some 180 in all.

On behalf of the co-sponsorship, the following personages made speeches: Chairman Himori Fumihiro of the JCSKIPR; Prof. Emeritus Kamakura Takao at Saitama University who is also director of the IIJI Board, and Prof. Emeritus Sakugawa Seiichi at Okinawa University who is also representative coordinator of the JNLCSKK.
Extending his congratulations on the success of the WPK's 7th Congress, Mr. Himori Fumihiro said that he made a fresh determination to exert more effort to promote the Japan-DPRK solidarity movement along with the movement to support Korea's independent, peaceful reunification through the Commemorative Reporting Conference.
Prof. Kamakura Takao said: under the circumstances that imperialist allied forces headed by US imperialism escalated their challenges to suffocate the DPRK and that she had to fight against it by herself, Korea has set forth the strategic line of simultaneously carrying on the economic construction and the building up of the nuclear forces together with the self-development-first spirit. Herein lies the reason for her victory.
Prof. Sakugawa Seiichi said: in Okinawa still being occupied by the US military bases the same tragedies have been repeated. In this regards, it is of most importance to study and disseminate
Vice-Chairman Nam Sung U of the Standing Committee of the Chongryon said in his guest speech as follows:
"What was of most significance in the 7th Congress of the WPK is that First Secretary
“There is no doubt that the 7th Party Congress will bring about a fresh turn in the struggle of the Korean people for their socialist construction, the independent reunification, and global independence under the leadership of Chairman
"In this context, I am convinced that this Reporting Conference will provide people with an opportunity to have a correct understanding of the 7th Party Congress along with the contents of the report to the Congress, and thus, on the basis of the appropriate judgment of the present circumstances, it will become an important occasion for people to promote vigorously the study and dissemination of the Juche idea along with the Japan-DPRK friendship movement."
In the Commemorative Reporting Conference, Prof. Ri Yong Su at Korea University in Japan who is also president of the Association of Korean Social Scientists in Japan made a presentation entitled "On the Historic Significance of the WPK's 7th Congress," which was followed by another presentation entitled "Visiting Pyongyang in Festive Mood to Celebrate the 7th Congress of the WPK" by Dr. Ogami Ken-ichi, secretary general of the IIJI.
Prof. Ri Yong Su said that as an important element in understanding the historical significance of the WPK's 7th Congress, it is important to pay attention to the official decision about its convocation in relation to the demand of the Party and the developing revolution. Then he explained the historical environment concerning the convocation of the 7th Congress, and referred to its objectives as follows:
"Based on the assessment that the revolutionary cause of Juche and the cause of global independence had entered into a new phase of development, the WPK's 7th Congress was convened as a congress of a general onward march with an aim to enhance tremendously the function and role of the Party as a party upholding aloft
In his presentation, Secretary General Ogami Ken-ichi of the IIJI explained the report to the WPK's 7th Congress along its five chapters as follows:
"In the first chapter of his report to the WPK's 7th Congress, Chairman
"What 'Great Victory of the Juche Idea and Songun Politics' is meant is that the thirty-six years are those of the fruition owing to the effort of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il. In other words, it can be said that the struggles waged by the President and the General Secretary have won a victory after all.
"That has been proved on the following grounds: firstly, the DPRK defended and developed socialism; secondly, she won a victory in the struggle against U.S. imperialism; thirdly, she pushed forward the building of a socialist thriving nation under the unprecedentedly harsh circumstances that President Kim Il Sung passed away, which was followed by historic natural disasters; and fourthly, she realized a one-minded unity of the leader, the Party and the masses as a result of making an end of bureaucracy and enhancing their ideological, organizational cohesion.
"Regarding the thought and leadership of President Kim Il Sung and those of General Secretary Kim Jong Il as a one thing, Chairman
"In the second chapter entitled 'For Accomplishment of the Cause of Socialism,' the outlook of accomplishing the cause of Juche, the cause of
"In the third chapter entitled 'For Independent Reunification of the Country,' it referred to things about accomplishing independence of the country on the whole land or as the entire nation.
""In the fourth chapter entitled 'For Global Independence,' the outlook of accomplishing global independence has been clarified.
"In the fifth chapter entitled 'For Strengthening and Development of the WPK,' proposed there are the party's tasks in the era of
"There are facts that the IIJI was established on April 9, 1978 two years before the WPK's 6th Congress and that a work of Kim Jong Il entitled "On the Juche Idea" was made public on March 31, 1982, two years later after the 6th Congress.
"Those facts indicate that people's struggles with the Juche idea as their guideline came to be conducted within the DPRK, on the Korean Peninsula and throughout the world as a whole. "Then in the process as such, the first trial that has been met after the demise of President Kim Il Sung was the offensive against the Juche idea.
"The history in which people have overcome the trial as such bespeaks the correctness and practical strength of the Juche idea, a plain proof that the Juche idea is only the guiding idea of the new age.
"Thus, I am sure to say that it is a great pleasure not only of the Korean people but also of us living in Japan and the people in the rest of the world to learn from the 7th Congress of the WPK. The 7th Congress has clearly taught us how righteous path we have traversed upholding aloft
