To Commemorate 70th Founding Anniversary of WPK
National Seminars on Juche Idea Held
in Countries Including India and Japan
In an effort to commemorate the 70th anniversary of thefounding of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) that has been propelling the cause of independence upholding aloft the banner of
India:
National Seminar on Independence and World Peace
A National Seminar on Independence and World Peace to commemorate the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK was held at India International Centre in New Delhi on September 12, 2015.
Present at the seminar were distinguished personages in various walks of life constituting jurists, professors, architects, engineers, politicians and educationists.
The seminar was presided over by Dr. Rajesh Mehta, president of the Managing Committee of Moti Lal Nehru College of Delhi University.
It was opened by lighting the lamp, an auspicious ritual followed in India and then some Sanskrit hymns glorifying the peace and harmony were rendered by the school children, which created a sublime ambience.
In his explanation of the theme of the seminarProf. Harish Gupta who is director general of the Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea (ARIJI) stressed that for world peace independence is the first requirement and that the Juche philosophygrants freedom to an individual and thereby to a nation state would be the surest way to peace.
Guest addresses were made by H.E.Syed SibteyRazi, formergovernor of Jharkhand, Assam and Orissa; H.E. Pak Kyong Song, ambassador of the DPRK to India; and Hon. Mr. Mangat Ram Singhal, former minister, NCR, Delhi.
Speeches were delivered by Mr. Mukesh Sharma, secretary general of the ARIJI, Prof. Suresh P. Pathak, director of the ARIJI Board, who is also president of the Indian Society for the Study of
Those speakers pointed out that independence is the essence of peace: the imperialists were the biggest enemies of peace.
They also said that the Juche idea is a philosophy that has been put into practice, and that real socialism in which this ideology has been applied to prevails in the DPRK.
A message addressed to First Secretary
After the vote of thanks proposed by Commander C.P. Gupta, a retired officer of Indian Navy, the seminar was closed with the national anthem of India sung by the school children.

Expressing thanks to the participants in the seminar for their effort to join there all the way from different parts of Japan, he said that he was very pleased with the seminar held on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK that had a long history with its origin coming back to the period of its anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle.
He sincerely hoped that studying the Juche idea once again through this seminar being held under the present Japanese situation would contribute to an upsurge in the people's movement in Japan.
Next, in his guest speech, referring to the current national security-related bills opposed by a lot of Japanese people, Mr. HimoriFumihiro, chairman of the Japanese Committee for Support of the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea said: on the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, I would like to study hard together with you and put forward our Japan-DPRK friendship campaign.
Similarly, in his guest address, referring to the agreement of Inter-Korean talks on the last August 25th, Mr. So Chung On, director of the Department for International Affairs and Reunification of the Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan said that it created a chance to improve the inter-Korean relations, which I believe indicated that only when people act based on the concept of independence, can they bring about a unique constructive agreement.

In the seminar a lecture entitled "Glorious History of WPK and New Development of Its Party-Building" was given by Mr. Ri Yong Su, dean of the Department of Culture and History of Korea University in Japan, who is also president of the Association of Korean Social Scientists in Japan.
His lecture was composed of the following three parts: the Juche-oriented Understanding of the Party of the Working Class; Honorable History of the WPK and Its Characteristics; First Secretary
At the outset he explained the Juche-oriented theory of party-building newly established on the basis of the people-centred socio-historic principle.

Next, a lecture entitled "For 70 Years After World War II, How Japan Has Dealt with DPRK, and How to Do with It Right Now" was given Prof. Kamakura Takao.
He said that since the end of World War II, Japan has taken a hand in the wars the U.S. provoked including the Korean War, while being subjugated to the country in terms of military and economic affairs.
Then he stressed that we the Japanese people are obliged to put forward our struggles steadily in an effort to check the current administration's plot for making Japan militarized under the U.S. global strategy and wipe out the hostile policy against the DPRK and a theory of looking at the DPRK as a menace to the security of nations regarded as the basis of the current administration’s policy.
At the end of the seminar, each member of a delegation from the JNLCSKK that was organized for visiting the DPRK on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK made their short speeches.
They said that they are determined to make their best effort to do with their visit to the DPRK so as to promote the study and dissemination of the Juche idea they have been conducting on a regular basis, along with their activities for building a new independent and peaceful society that realizes the happiness of people.
The seminar on the Juche idea was of significance in that those who gathered there commemorated the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK by looking back on the glorious history of the WPK that had traversed the path of realizing people's happiness through overcoming hardships in its struggles, and that the Japanese people strengthened their determination to promote the study and dissemination of the Juche idea among the broader masses of the people with a prospect for the future of their country at the juncture that falls 70 years after World War II.
