on 2nd Anniversary of Demise of
General Secretary Kim Jong Il

― To Learn from Exploits of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and
Thoughts and Leadership of First Secretary Kim Jong Un ―


■INDIA:

   A gathering to remember General Secretary Kim Jong Il was held in Delhi on December 4, 2013. It was attended by local Juche idea researchers including Dr. Vishwanath, director general of the IIJI Board.
   Prof. Harish Gupta, director general of the Board of Directors of the Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea, gave a lecture on the exploits made by General Secretary Kim Jong Il in terms of developing and enriching the Juche idea as the guiding idea of the era of independence.

■JAPAN:

   A IIJI’s Regular Study Meeting was held in Tokyo on December 16, 2013, on the eve of the 2nd anniversary of the demise of General Secretary Kim Jong Il. Studied and discussed there were the achievements made by General Secretary Kim Jong Il during his lifetime and the thoughts and leadership of First Secretary Kim Jong Un.
   It was attended by Dr. Ogami Kenichi, secretary general of the IIJI, Prof. Emeritus Kamakura Takao at Saitama University who is also director of the IIJI Board, Prof. Ouchi Noriaki at Kanto Gakuin University who is also research-fellow of the IIJI, President Kim Hwa Hyo of the Association of Social Scientists of Korean Residents in Japan, Secretary General Hanawa Fujio of the Japanese National Liaison Council of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and some other scholars and researchers.
   At the meeting Prof. Ogura Kizo at Kyoto University who is also joint representative of the Kansai Liaison Council for the Study of Kimilsung-Kimjongilism gave a lecture.
   Prof. Ogura Kizo pointed out that whereas there are some countries that are inclined to survive by subordinating themselves to the greater powers, the DPRK has been taking independent and Juche-oriented policies toward the forces that oppress herself.
   While referring to the situation that there are lack of understandings about their respective counterparts in the East Asian countries, he put an emphasis on the importance of going through the processes in which Japan takes a Juche-oriented stand, makes efforts to solve the issue of the recognition of history, thus effecting rapprochements among them.
   Regarding the problems lying between Japan and the DPRK, he suggested that they should be solved in the process of realizing the diplomatic normalization between the bilateral countries.
   Those participants exchanged their views and opinions, deepening the discussions.
   After the regular study meeting, they drank to the eternity of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
