World Juche Idea Researchers Visit Pyongyang
to Celebrate Day of Sun

   On the occasion of the 101th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung that fell on April 15, 2013, twelve Juche idea delegations from seven countries of Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe visited Pyongyang.
   While attending various congratulatory events in the peaceful atmosphere in celebration of the Day of the Sun, those Juche idea researchers from the world paid homage to President Kim Il Sung at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun.
   For those Juche idea researchers, a banquet celebrating the Day of the Sun was held on April 14. Secretary Kim Ki Nam of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea made an address there as follows:
   While being pleased with many achievements in the worldwide study and dissemination of the Juche idea, I would like to express our thanks to your warm support and encouragement to our struggle for safeguarding the dignity and sovereignty of the nation.
   I am sure that your visit to our country this time will be a significant occasion for you to witness the proud reality of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il Korea on its way to march forward vigorously upholding aloft the banner of the Juche idea and the Songun idea even in such situation as the US and its followers are intensifying their machinations against the DPRK more unscrupulously than ever before. And I expect that you will continue to show your support and solidarity with our people's struggle of justice in the same way as you did in the past.
   During their stay in Pyongyang, there was a ceremony of rewarding a DPRK Doctorate of Philosophy to Secretary General Ogami Ken-ichi of the IIJI in the Assembly Hall of Mansudae on April 16.
   The Doctorate was given to him for his contribution to giving commentaries and proof on the correctness of the idea and theory of First Secretary Kim Jong Un, who formulated the Juche idea and the Songun idea, the thoughts of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il as Kimilsung-Kimjongilism.

14th Executive Committee Meeting of the IIJI Held

   The 14th Executive Committee meeting was held in Pyongyang on April 14, 2013.
   It was participated by the following personages: Dr. Vishwanath, director general of the IIJI; Dr. Ogami Ken-ichi, secretary general of the IIJI; Prof. Harish Gupta, director general of the Board of Directors of the Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea (ARIJI); Prof. Ramon Jimenez Lopez, director general of the Board of Directors of the Latin American Institute of the Juche Idea (LAIJI) and Mr. Eleazar Rubio Aldaran, secretary general of the LAIJI and Vice-Chairman Ri Kil Song of the Korean Association of Social Scientists (KASS).
   Also some others attended there as observers, including Chairman Lohekele Kalonda Andre of the National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
   In the meeting, a report on the work of the IIJI and its work plan were discussed and adopted.
   The report on the work of the IIJI was presented by Director General Vishwanath in view of the study and dissemination of the Juche idea conducted in the world for some two years since the last Executive Committee meeting.
   It referred to the following facts: in the year 2011 the activities were conducted in an effort to step up the study and dissemination of the Juche idea and celebrate the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung on a worldwide scale, and in the year 2012 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun the World Congress of the Juche Idea was held in Pyongyang successfully.
   Those efforts to celebrate the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung ensured to recognize afresh the exploits made by President Kim Il Sung who had carved out the era of independence and the great role of the leader in the people's cause of shaping history.
   The fact that First Secretary Kim Jong Un succeeding to the idea and leadership of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il has been carrying forward the revolutionary cause of Juche in a splendid manner is great encouragement to the world progressive people who once sank into a state of grief with the sudden demise of the General Secretary.
   Then, by dint of the proclamation of Kimilsung-Kimjongilism as an integral system of idea, theory and method of Juche by First Secretary Kim Jong Un, the world people's struggle for independence would be conducted in the future to come with a guarantee for more acceleration in global independence.
   Further, as the fact that study groups of Kimilsung-Kimjongilism have been formed in the four major continents like Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe shows, nowadays the worldwide study and dissemination of the Juche idea has come to being performed in line with Kimilsung-Kimjongilism.
   After the adoption of the first document, a work plan of the IJII was read aloud by Secretary General Ogami Kenichi of the IIJI.
   He referred to the role of Juche idea researchers in individual countries as forerunners in building an independent and peaceful world through studying and disseminating Kimilsung-Kimjongilism, the guiding idea of the present era of independence and pointed out the following tasks to do:
   Juche idea researchers are requested to form study groups of Kimilsung-Kimjongilism including the broad masses of the people as their members in an effort to study this ideology and be exposed to the essence.
   Next, on the strengthening the relations between the IIJI and each regional institute of the Juche idea, the followings were pointed out:
   Firstly, regional institutes of the Juche idea are requested to consolidate their organizational systems and then make closer contact with Juche idea study groups in their respective regions.
   Secondly, Juche idea researchers were requested to perform the study and dissemination of the Juche idea in their individual countries in a various manners such as holding seminars, art performances, film shows, issuing publications, and organizing delegations to visit the DPRK.
   Here, the IIJI is requested to take the lead in the worldwide study and dissemination of the Juche idea. It is an independent, academic research institute that was founded for the world people in an effort to give an ideological basis that enables Juche idea researchers in individual countries to conduct splendidly their own revolution and construction.
   Then, what was put an emphasis on in the work plan was, in view of the founding ideal of this institute, to establish a system that enables the IIJI to take the lead in the worldwide study and dissemination of the Juche idea.
   In this context, Director General Vishwanath mentioned that it will be important for the IIJI and each regional institute of the Juche idea to cooperate with one another so as to enable Juche idea researchers in each region to be united and follow the one path of Juche.
   Prof. Harish Gupta, director general of the ARIJI Board said that it will be necessary for each regional institute of the Juche idea to send a report on the study and dissemination of the Juche idea conducted in its own region to the IIJI, whereas the IIJI will be requested to render its assistance to each one.
   In the discussion of the work plan, Prof. Ramon Jimenez Lopez, director general of the LAIJI Board said that it is the requirement of the present situation to activate more the study and dissemination of the Juche idea so as to make an ideological turnaround in the worldwide scope.
   Also in the work plan, it was acknowledged as the desire of Juche idea researchers of the world that Dr. Vishwanath who has been leading the work of the IIJI energetically in spite of his advanced age shall be requested to continue to fulfill his duties as director general of the IIJI in the future as well.
   Conducted in the meeting was a by-election for members of the Executive Committee of the IIJI Board. Secretary General Eleazar Rubio Aldaran of the LAIJI and Vice-Chairman Ri Kil Song of the KASS were elected members of the IIJI Board's Executive Committee.
   The meeting adopted an appeal entitled "Let Us Support and Encourage Positively the Korean People's Cause of Justice."
   It reads: The 14th Executive Committee meeting extends its full support to the strategic line of the Korean people on simultaneously developing the economy and defence upbuilding as an only guarantee for bringing about victory in their cause of independence, their cause of socialism. The Korean people's struggle of justice shall surely win victory in shaping the path of independence, the path of socialism.
