In Celebration of the 68th Birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il
- Seminars on the Juche Idea in India and the U.K.-

    Gatherings to celebrate the 68th birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il were held in various countries of the world between January and February 2010.
    In this regard, reached to the IIJI were a detailed report on a seminar on the Juche idea held in New Delhi by Prof. Suresh Pathak, president of the Indian Society for the Study of Kim Jong Il Works, who is on the ARIJI Board; a detailed report on the celebration held in London by Chairman Dermot Hudson of the Juche Idea Study Group of England. India: Prominent Figures Gather Together under the Aegis of the ARIJI

    On January 30, 2010, a seminar on the Juche idea to celebrate the 68th birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il was held in New Delhi, India, on a grand scale.
Present there were Dr. Vishwanath, director general of the IIJI Board; Dr. Harish Gupta, secretary general of the Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea (ARIJI), scholars, Supreme Court advocates, jurists, politicians, social workers, journalists, students, etc.
    Also present in the seminar was H.E. Mr. Rim Hoe Song, ambassador of the DPRK to India.
    It was presided over by economist and educationist Prof. O. P. Agrawal.
    Dr. Vishwanath highlighted great deeds of President Kim Il Sung and said that under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il Korea was taking great strides in its march forward facing all the hurdles, put in its way by the imperialist forces, with astounding successes.
    Prof. Harish Gupta painted a picture of the achievements made in Korea under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il who shares with the masses their woes, their sufferings and their joy, and stands by their side and with them.
    Prof. S.K. Laroiya at Delhi University underlined the fact that the DPRK under the leadership of the General Secretary did not fall a prey to the imperialists’ designs and is moving ahead even without any foreign aid when the economic affairs are being manipulated by the imperialists in the name of globalization and liberalization.
    Prof. Neera Narang at Delhi University and Prof. Suresh Pathak analyzed the recent Peace Offer made by the DPRK to the U.S., saying that it was not made from a position of weakness but it bore the stamp of humane quality of General Secretary Kim Jong Il in the interest of the entire human race. They added that the DPRK’s move to denuclearize the area is for a noble purpose, which may help in ushering the world in an era of peace.
    Similarly, there was such a scene as a participant wished a happy birthday to the General Secretary and every one joined her when she sang it.

The U. K.: Results in the Study of Kim Jong Il Work Presented

    The Juche Idea Study Group of England held a meeting in London on January 30, 2010, to celebrate the 68th birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il. The meeting was attended by its members as well as scholars and friendship activists with the DPRK.
    In his speech referring to the DPRK’s introduction of the Computer Numerical Control (CNC) technology to its economy and other examples, Chairman Dermot Hudson of the said Group pointed out that its significant economic growth was achieved by the firm unity of the people and the leader through the ceaseless on-spot-guidance and leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
    In his speech entitled “Review of the Juche Idea Study Group Work over the Past 10 Years”, its secretary general Shaun Pickford highlighted that the study group had persistently striven hard for the past decade to build up the unity among the people with the Juche idea as its guiding principles, as well as to enhance contact with the IIJI and the European Society for the Study of the Juche Idea.
    Dr. Hugh Goodacre, lecturer at London University, presented his research into the work of General Secretary Kim Jong Il entitled “The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Is a Juche-oriented Socialist State with Invincible Might.” He mentioned that the DPRK is an independent socialist state where the Juche idea is embodied in all aspects of state-building and state activities. Stressing that the Juche idea, which clarifies the independence is the lifeblood of a country, a nation, a people, and the revolution, is the guarantee of progress in independent and creative struggles of the masses, he expressed his determination to study and disseminate the Juche idea furthermore as social scientist.
