―IIJI Director General and Researchers Concerning LAIJI Exerting Efforts
to Make Seminar Go Well—

The International Institute of the Juche Idea (IIJI) held an Internet International Seminar on Kimilsung-Kimjongilism to celebrate the Day of the Sun, on April 10-17, 2021.

Based in Mexico, the seminar was hosted by Prof. Ramon Jimenez Lopez, director general of the IIJI Board, with the cooperation of its secretary general Dr. Ogami Ken-ichi.

In spite of the severe conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic and the short preparation period, many people who were eager and active to promote the study and dissemination of the Juche idea in their countries actively participated in the seminar, which gave mutual encouragement and positive influence.

The success in the Internet International Seminar was by dint of the efforts of Latin American Juche idea researcheres including Prof. Ramon Jimenez Lopez, director general of the IIJI Board and Eleazar Rubio Ardalan, secretary general of the Latin American Institute of the Juche Idea (LAIJI), who completed the complex undertaking concerned in a short time.

Both on the first day and the last day of the Internet International Seminar, opening and closing sessions were held to get connected Juche idea researchers in individual countries online.

Both sessions started at 8:00 a.m. in the Mexican time, but due to the time difference, it was noon in other countries and midnight in Japan. Likely, researchers from different countries participated them at different times, but it was as if they were together at a place across time and space.

On the occasion of the Internet International Seminar, a special page was set up on the website of the IIJI, where more than 90 speeches and congratulatory messages in all from some 70 countries were respectively translated and introduced in English, French, Russian, Arabic and Japanese.

After the Internet International Seminar, Mr. Javed Ansari, director of the Board of Directors of the Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea who is also secretary general of the Pakistan Society for Self-reliance Studies, sent the following message to the IIJI.

“The success of the seminar has proved that the Juche idea has rapidly spread in every nook and corner of the world―from Europe to Africa and Asia and across America and Australia. The meeting was attended by members from different races, caste, color and creed, languages, religions―but one thing which was common between them was their beliefs of the Juche philosophy which has won approval and sympathy from the people all over the world and it has made a great impact on global progress as the guidelines for independent development of all the nations and the propellant of building a new, peaceful and fair society.”

The messages sent from each country not only dispelled the stagnant atmosphere caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, but also made those concerned realize the high expectations of the people of each country for independence and peace with their faith in Kimilsung-Kimjongilism, and the high demand for promoting the study and dissemination of this principle, while strengthening global cooperation among themselves. It was a great experience, indeed.

The success in the Internet International Seminar on Kimilsung-Kimjongilism also showed that there are many Juche idea researchers in the world who are willing to make the best of any difficulties and carry on their work concerned.

The Internet International Seminar on Kimilsung-Kimjongilism has proved the firmness of the conviction and determination of Juche idea researchers in different countries to live up to this principle and has shown that the world is being united anew based on the Juche view of the world and life.

Seminars on Juche Idea Held Diversely in the World

Learning from the reports and letters by President Kim Il Sung, General Secretary Kim Jong Il and General Secretary Kim Jong Un, Juche idea researchers throughout the world are trying to get universal conceptions about the features of an ideal society for human beings and how it can be built in an effort to make it useful for the social development of their own countries.

Introducing here are the study and dissemination of the Juche idea being conducted in Mexico and in the DR of the Congo in April 2021.

Mexico: Reading Session for Kim Il Sung’s Work Conducted

On April 9, on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, the Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsung-Kimjongilism held a reading session for a classic work by President Kim Il Sung entitled: "The 10-Point Program for the Great Unity of the Whole Nation for the Reunification of the Country.”

The reading session was attended by Prof. Ramon Jimenez Lopez, director general of the IIJI Board, Mr. Eleazar Rubio Ardalan, secretary general of the Latin American Institute of the Juche Idea (LAIJI), Ms. Andrea Zarate Fuentes, chairperson of the Youth Movement for Independent Latin America, and more than 30 members of the leadership of the Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsung-Kimjongilism and the Youth Movement.

Prof. Ramon Jimenez Lopez read key portions of the work and explained the everlasting achievements of President Kim Il Sung in his work for the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea.

Once again, the participants were deeply moved by the fact that the future of humanity was brightened by the presence of President Kim Il Sung, the founder of the Juche idea.

DR of Congo: Africa’s Reality Calls for Juche Idea

On April 11, on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, a seminar was held in Kinshasa hosted by a study group of the Juche idea for independence affiliated to the DRC National Association for the Study of the Juche Idea.

The seminar was attended by some 30 members of the leadership of the National Association, including the president of the National Association, Prof. Lohekele Kalonda Andre who is also secretary general of the African Regional Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea.

Those speakers stressed that the greatness and vitality of the Juche idea had been clearly demonstrated in the Korean reality and that today's African reality desperately needs a thorough embodiment of the Juche idea day by day.

Learning from the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung, General Secretary Kim Jong Il and General Secretary Kim Jong Un, they said that they should build a people-centered and people-oriented society by relying on the masses in all their activities, developing social economy, and vigorously waging the struggle to improve the lives of the people.

A question-and-answer session followed, and finally, a congratulatory message to General Secretary Kim Jong Un was adopted with the applause of the participants.

Workshops on Juche Idea Held in Okinawa, Osaka,
Fukushima, Tokyo, etc. in Japan

In Japan, Juche idea study groups have been set up, conducting their respective activities in positive manners.

Whereas in the DPRK, since the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea was held in January this year, many gatherings of different bodies have been conducted including the 6th Conference of Cell Secretaries of the Workers' Party of Korea, the 10th Congress of the Youth League, and the 8th Congress of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea. Similarly, plenary meetings of the Central Committee of the WPK were held three times since then.

Japanese Juche idea researchers are trying to learn the universal contents from the reports and letters made by General Secretary Kim Jong Un at those gatherings in terms of the features of an ideal society and the methods and ways to reach there in an effort to make a good use of the development of their own country.

Introducing here are some of the workshops conducted by some of Juche idea study groups in Japan from May to June, 2021.

Okinawa: To Make This Place Peaceful without Military Bases

On May 14, participating at the venue of a workshop conducted by the Okinawa Liaison Council for the Study of Kimilsung-Kimjongilism were such as municipal assembly member, dentist, teacher, dancer, and others.

In his lecture Prof. Emeritus Taira Ken-ichi at Okinawa University said as follows:

"It is odd to say that the Amami Island, the Northern Part of the Main Island of Okinawa, and the Iriomote Island, etc., are about to be inscribed on the World Natural Heritage List, even though the destruction of nature in those areas is proceeding due to the US base policy.

“Also, the Suga Administration is an insecure one, as it is subordinate to and actively involved in the war policy of the Biden Administration of the United States, which is trying to expand its military policy for global domination.”

Next, a DVD of an art performance to celebrate the 8th Congress of the WPK entitled "We Sing of Party" was shown.

The participants in the study meeting expressed their impressions, such as "We could clearly see that in the DPRK many people, including children, are deeply connected in their minds to the leadership of the country.”

Osaka: DPRK Promoting People-centered Socialist Construction

Participating in a workshop on May 15 held by the Kansai Liaison Council for the Study of Kimilsung-Kimjongilism were Prof. Emeritus Ie Masaji at Kobe City University of Foreign Studies, Chairperson Ikebe Yukie of the Japan-DPRK Music and Art Exchange Society, and other Juche idea researchers such as teacher, nurse and student.

Following an address made by Prof. Ie Masaji on the behalf of the sponsorship, those participants studied General Secretary Kim Jong Un's concluding speech at the Sixth Conference of Cell Secretaries of the WPK, "On the Important Tasks for Strengthening Party Cells at Present," and exchanged views and opinions on it.

There arose an impression like "Cell secretaries are making every effort to unite everyone, and people are trying to unite themselves around cell secretaries as such. Here we can see an aspect of the single-minded unity.”

Finally, Chairperson Ikebe Yukie said: "The Party is a motherly party to the people, the ideology they can count on. It is also the role of the Party to watch over and nurture the people just like mothers do with their children. Cell secretaries connect the people with the Party in accordance with its will."

Fukushima: Studying Superiority of Korean Socialism

On June 16, a workshop was held in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, organized by the Fukushima Association of Visitors to the DPRK with the attendance of Juche idea researchers such as municipal assembly member and teacher.

Mr. Sumitani Keizo, president of the Fukushima Association of Visitors to the DPRK, gave a lecture on President Kim Il Sung's policy speech at the Supreme People’s Assembly in 1990: "Let Us Further Demonstrate the Superiority of Socialism of Our County”. The following is a summary of his lecture.

President Kim Il Sung aimed for a people-centered socialism. This was deeply related to his upbringing, his father’s influence on him, and his own experiences in the anti-Japanese armed struggle. After the liberation of Korea, President Kim Il Sung started to gather children who had lost their parents and educate them free of charge. I strongly felt that it was the President's intention from the time of the anti-Japanese armed struggle to aim for a society where the masses are the true masters.

President Kim Il Sung said that the superiority of the socialist system in the DPRK is clearly manifested in the happy and hopeful socialist life everyone enjoys.

Talking about the masters of politics, the point is who are true masters in the political administration, I believe. In the DPRK, everyone is involved in political organizations and freely participates and engages in social and political activities. Education is a tool for that purpose.

Following the lecture, participants raised opinions such as that “Under the circumstances of Japan where gaps among the people are widening, it is important for us to learn from an idea that teaches us to make our effort to change our society.”

Tokyo: Studying Features of an Ideal Society and Ways of
Building it through Works

On June 20, a workshop on the Juche idea was held in Tokyo with the attendance of Juche idea researchers all over Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa.

In the workshop, Dr. Ogami Ken-ichi, secretary general of the IIJI gave a lecture on the latest works made public by General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

Here are the gists of his lecture.

〇A letter sent to the participants of the 8th Congress of the Korean General Confederation of Trade Unions: "Let the Trade Unions Become Advance Units That Open Up a New Era of Upsurge in Socialist Construction in the Vanguard”

General Secretary Kim Jong Un has set the following tasks for the Trade Unions: first, to develop the working class and the Trade Unions’ members into people of communist conviction who wage struggle with confidence for the bright future of Korean-style socialism; second, the working class and the Trade Unions’ members must take the lead in the struggle to carry out the five-year plan presented at the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea; third, the working class and the Trade Unions are to be brought up to be the embodiment of socialist civilization with high morals and high cultural background, that is, people who are suitable to live in the new socialist and communist society.

It can be said that General Secretary Kim Jong Un has clearly set out a new ideal of communism based on the Juche idea as the goal, using the term of communism, which is rarely spoken these days.

〇Report on the Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea

At the Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea held on June 15, 2021, General Secretary Kim Jong Un reported straightforwardly that the gross industrial production plan for the first half of the year had already been achieved by 144% that exceeded by 125% compared to the same period last year, and that there had been some achievements but also some deviations in the implementation of the national plan and the policy tasks.

General Secretary Kim Jong Un summarized the Party activities of the past six months and said that this year the Party will concentrate its efforts on agriculture for the time being and that measures to prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic will be taken on the assumption that it continues for a long time.

General Secretary Kim Jong Un stressed that the principle of devotion to the people is a practical guideline and a standard of conduct for taking responsibility for the lives and livelihoods of the people and serving them unconditionally. He stressed that the more difficulties they face, the more they must go deeper among the people, share their suffering and hardships, and devote everything to fighting for them.

Those participants in the workshop learned from the ideology and activities of the Juche-oriented movement to fight for the good of the people with the principle of self-reliance in spite of difficulties and expressed their determination to work together with many people to learn from and utilize the Juche idea in their respective places.
