Having Ties with IIJI Strengthened, Study and Dissemination of Juche Idea

Advances in Europe, Latin America and Africa

The role of Juche idea study groups in the world has been increasing more and more in the current situation that many countries and nations are advancing along the path of independent development with this idea as the guiding ideology of the era of independence spreading more and more.

Under such circumstances, there is a growing tendency among the Juche idea study groups in the world to strengthen their cooperative relations with the IIJI and promote their study and dissemination of this idea.

Being introduced here is some activities conducted in Europe, Venezuela and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

European Regional Society for Study of Juche Idea (ERSSJI), Positively Enhancing Contact with Its Regional Directors

It was on February 1, 2020 when Secretary General of the ERSSJI, Prof. Matteo Carbonelli sent an e-mail to its directors with the following words:

“I would like to remember you our first week-end contact this year, today and tomorrow, in order to reciprocally inform each other about activities being conducted in our countries on the study and dissemination of the Juche idea. I am looking forward to having e-mails from each of you.”

An initiative like that was proposed by Prof. Matteo Carbonelli, secretary general of the ERSSJI at its last Board meeting when the European Regional seminar on the Juche Idea was held in Bulgaria last year. The Secretary General suggested that individual directors of the European Board should make a quarterly report on their study and dissemination of the Juche idea in their own countries so that they could conduct their work with tight ties with the others with the ERSSJI at the centre. It obtained their consent approval.

Within the day he sent the said e-mail, reports from several directors of the Board reached the Secretary General, who then immediately replied to them e-mails with thanks.

Then afterwards, for two days, more reports on their respective work by many other directors and researchers in the region reached the Secretary General.

Prof. Matteo Carbonelli wrote in his e-mail of many thanks to them all when the “contact week-end” program ended as follows:

“We just had our first ‘contact week-end’ of this year. It was the first experience of this kind. And I think it has been satisfying for us. I congratulate them and am grateful for sharing this information. Certainly it will impulse similar activities in other countries and also stimulate other directors for sharing their information. I am confident that in the future this experience shall be more and more fruitful, helping cooperation between all of us. Next ‘contact week-end’ will be on June 6 and 7. I hope that all of us shall be able to participate and give their contribution.”

Secretary General Matteo Carbonelli let the IIJI know of those reports from the directors of the ERSSJI Board and other researchers in Europe.

Introducing here are some of them:

In Finland, the Finnish Society for the Study of Juche Idea together with the Korean Friendship Association Finland set up an exhibition space at an event hall in Helsinki in last January. Those members concerned distributed the works of General Secretary Kim Jong Il as well as those of Chairman Kim Jong Un, while having many discussions on the Juche idea with those who dropped in at the space.

Besides, there were some members of the Juche Idea Study Group of Madrid who had an experience in zealously studying the Juche idea through their long stay in the DPRK. In the study meeting held on February 4, this group studied the report about the 5th Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea as well as a work of General Secretary of Kim Jong Il.

The strengthening of relations between Secretary General Matteo Carbonelli who sent a sincere call and the directors of the ERSSJI Board and others who corresponded to it has given rise to a new tendency in the study and dissemination of the Juche idea in Europe.
